Shooting for the purpose of publicity and portraiture is so different from shooting for prints. The difference lays in the purpose the image was created. With this type of photography the subject itself seeks to communicate a message to the audience. Our goal is to bring that message to life through the use of photography. Whether it is “we put on a great live show” or “I’m an approachable individual” or to create a lasting memory, by working with each client to tailor their shots for the purpose at hand you will receive the brand of image you’re looking for and enhance the experience of the audience the images are designed to target – from agents to fans to guests in your home.

Publicity

I have been shooting publicity photos since 2000, including live band photography which makes up the majority of my work, but also some posed photography for press shots and/or album layout artwork. Beyond this I have experience shooting headshots (mostly in-studio, but outside as well) for a variety of needs, including book jackets, publicity, and more. Headshots can but are not required to include full-length portraits as well.

While this section is specifically designed to cater to the needs of musicians I would love to shoot your publicity photography whatever your need may be. Portraiture

While DSA Photography plans to perform portraiture in the future, we do not currently offer that service. In the meantime we would like to refer you to our good friend, Marleen Eberding. Marleen is an amazing photographer whose work we respect and a person we are happy to know. She is based on the west coast of Canada, but is also available for travel.
